With the new year comes a certain amount of anxiety for me... I must admit. Not because I'm stressed. Or overworked. But because my baby boy is going to be graduating high school this June. This just puts that little knot in my stomach. That little voice every mom has inside that says, "where has the time gone" creeps up at me all the time now. So I find myself grasping to all that is youthful and memorable for him as well as myself. This month, I have used our Babycakes paper to suggest how very proud I am of him and all that he has become, while expressing my ever-present "mom-ness" with our December Stamp of the Month care instructions.

I took our CTMH 6" X 6" My Creations™ Memory Showcase and created a quick rendition of my son's jump from baby to graduate, using scrapbooking techniques that I've been learning. Starting with the base, I inked the edges, as I knew the cover was bigger than the 6" x 6" paper pieces I had cut. This distressing created just the base I needed to showcase the paper in a cheerful, yet softened manner.
I then created vignettes on each page, two for his baby and senior pictures, and two for the sentiment I wanted to share. What better phrase to capture this moment than "You must've been a beautiful baby..."?
I had been at a loss for this project, until I looked at the year ahead. Then it all came clear. As much as I was trying to come up with a project that was not baby related, this idea popped into my head as soon as I got the front and back pages arranged. What a terrific piece of 3-D art to remember this year, this moment, and this "knot"... which isn't a terrible thing, after all.
