Damask Divas Ariana Blog Hop

Welcome to Keepable Paper Creations - a place where your creations are always "keepers".  You have "landed" on my contribution to the Damask Divas Ariana Blog Hop for April.  My name is Brenda Zimmerman, and I am an Independent Consultant with Close To My Heart.  I hope you are enjoying all of the fabulous ideas coming your way!
If you came from Traci Williams' page, you are in the right place.  If you have jumped here and just discovered our blog hop, feel free to check the list at our Damask Divas Blog to find the complete list of blog hop participants.
This month, I was inspired by a YouTube video tutorial by Dawns Inspirations featuring the STAR album, or Star Book.  There are more tutorials out there, but Dawns was SUPER SIMPLE to put together.  If you know me by now, you know that simple is my forte'!

This album calls for nine (3 of each color), 12 x 12 cardstock pages and one sheet of specialty paper. It's a terrific way to use up some of your old stock!  I used some paper I had in my stash that compliments the Ariana Paper Pack for my album base pages. Very simple cuts and scoring to get the papers to form a star.

One tip I must share with you for this project is that Scor Tape (or a comparable product) is a must.  The trick to this coming together is how the pages are stuck to one another.
Also, with any of my mini albums, I take the time to ink the edges of all of my papers, including the base page cardstock to help the whole thing "pop".

BOY, did I have FUN with my Artbooking Cartridge from Close To My Heart!  Every page includes a picture frame and a dimensional element of some sort from this cartridge.  Even the front cover is adorned by an Artbooking cut.

Speaking of the front cover, did you see those BUTTERFLIES?  Those were made from Aluminum Foil and some wafer thin dies.  I used my Big Kick to cut them out.  Why didn't I use my Cuttlebug for this you ask?  I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the pockets and flaps with Close To My Heart's Damask Embossing Folder.

Small pictures are meant to be placed on the right floral side (space left open on top of each frame so you can slide them on in), and there is plenty of room on each left side for journaling your memories if you so choose.

The coolest thing about this project might be that, when you display it, it forms a star.  Check out the overhead view of this project - it makes it so fun and functional.  You never have to put it away!
Look for miniature versions of this project on YouTube and Pinterest, too, which are popular during the holidays to give as gifts that can hang on the tree!  Just another twist on the mini album craze!
Thanks so much for stopping by!  The next blog on the list is Jamie Blades.  Hope you enjoy checking out all the creations using our Ariana Paper Pack as well as all that is new in our 2014 IDEA BOOK!  The rest of our hop is just a click away, but if you get lost, just hop on over to our Damask Divas Blog for the full list!

Also, don't miss out on Close To My Heart's Stamp of the Month for April - Balloon Talk. To me, this stamp screams "Life Happens - Capture It!".  Just $5.00 with any $50.00 in purchases, it's a simple way to journal those memories without breaking the bank!
